We collect and use your personal data in the scope of our customer relationship management, which includes the sending of direct mailings, in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (“GDPR”).

This privacy notice explains why and how we collect your personal data, the measures we take to protect your data and how long we retain your data.

The GDPR also grants you certain rights as a data subject.

2. Purposes

We collect and use your personal data to inform you about our products and services via our website, social media pages or direct mailings on topics that may be of interest to you, which includes our newsletters, information about our products and invitations to our fairs and events.

 

3. Legal basis

We collect and use your personal data to inform you about our products and services because you have given us your consent when subscribing via our website or during an(y of our) event(s) or because we have a legitimate interest in providing you with information and updates that we believe that may be of interest to you.

For the purposes mentioned above, we may collect and process the following personal data:

  • employment data (such as, employer, function)
  • use of the mailings
  • your participation or visit to our fairs/events
  • your evaluation of our fairs/events

5. Source of personal data

We obtain your personal data when you visit us at an(y of our) event(s) or when you subscribe to our mailings or in the context of our interactions with you as a (prospective) customer or (prospective) business partner. This includes interactions via our website or social media page, via e-mail, by phone and during meetings, fairs or other events.

For the purposes mentioned above, we may have to provide your personal data to the following parties:

Our IT, software and web development providers may also have access to your personal data when subscribing to our mailings or when the mailing is sent.

 

7. Transfer of personal data

Your personal data will not be transferred outside the European Economic Area without appropriate safeguards.

 

8. Retention period

We will use your personal data to send you direct mailings until you unsubscribe from our mailings.

In case you have visited us at our/a fair or event, we will delete or anonymize all personal data regarding your participation to an(y of our) event(s) 10 years after the end of the respective financial year in which the event took place.

 

9. Rights

You can always contact us if you would like to:

  • request access to or rectification of your personal data.
  • request erasure of your personal data.
  • request a restriction of the processing of your personal data.
  • unsubscribe from our mailings.
  • send a complaint if you consider that we are not acting in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. You can also introduce a complaint with the supervisory authority.

The aforementioned rights or obligations can be exercised by e-mail (privacy@empwr.world) or by letter to the postal address mentioned under point 1 for EMPWR BV, accompanied by a copy of your ID card. Please remove the national registration number when you provide us with such copy. We will grant you all rights to which you are entitled in accordance with the applicable regulations.

You can always access or rectify your personal data by using the “update preferences” option at the bottom of our mailings and unsubscribe directly by using the “unsubscribe” option. Once you unsubscribe from our mailings, you will no longer receive them. You can always resubscribe via our website.

Please also inform us when your personal data is not accurate or no longer up-to-date.

 

10. Automated decision-making

We do not engage in automated decision-making, including profiling.

 

11. Security

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the confidentiality of your personal data and protect your data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure or access.

This privacy notice may be amended from time to time within the boundaries of applicable data protection legislation.
